I was watching "50 First Dates," the other day and I discovered something kind of ironic about the film and a couple of other of Drew films. All dealing with Baseball.

In "Never Been Kissed," the end takes place on a baseball field.

In "50 First Dates," I don't know if anyone remembers this part, but it made me think and laugh, but in the part where Lucy watched the video Henry made for her for the first time in one segment he shows her what happened in the past year one of them saying "The Boston Red Sox Win the World Series....Just Kidding." This movie can out in 2004 so they had not won yet.

Then in 2005 "Fever Pitch," came out which dealt with baseball and especially the Boston Red Sox and what do you know?" They win during the filming of that movie! If you remember they had to change the ending since they planned on them losing again, but to their surprise they won. After all those years they finally won.

I'm guessing Drew likes baseball or its just ironic it ends up in a lot of her films. tongue.gif

Did anyone else catch this?

Yeah, I remember those parts! It's quite a coincidence! A little off topic but if you watch See You In The Morning, the part where Drew gets her makeup done at the mall... there's a Lancome sign right beside her - and of course we all know Drew has since modeled for Lancome thumbsup.gif

Cheers!

It is absolutely no secret that "Fever Pitch" is my ultimate favorite movie.

Remember the equatioin:
biggrin.gif = Drew Barrymore + Boston Red Sox

I'm still wondering if they made that movie just for me. How did they know I am a Drew Barrymore fan AND a Boston Red Sox fan.

But you know what I really find strange about this?

*Some people don't know that the Red Sox are a REAL Major League Baseball team
*Some people don't know that the Red Sox really did win the World Series in 2004
*Some people don't know that the Red Sox won the World Series again last year
*Some people think I'm a Red Sox fan JUST BECAUSE of the movie Fever Pitch - NOT TRUE - I was born and raised here in Massachusetts so I have ALWAYS been a Red Sox fan
*Some people don't know that the Opening Day scene in the movie is fake
*There's more!

It's funny that's how I met TJ, through a imdb.com fever pitch message board!

Well, I never noticed that, though I did pick up the hint in the Red Sox thing for 50 First Dates.

So you think an honest Drewbie like me who truly appreciates Drew Barrymore and the Boston Red Sox would get a part in the sequel to Fever Pitch as a FENWAY PARK HOT DOG VENDOR???????????????? wacko.gif

Issy, you make me laugh! You really do! laugh.gif

If I were to be in a sequel to Fever Pitch, I would expect to be some sort of major character, not only because I am a real Red Sox fan, but I am a member of this DBC family. However, if the hot dog vendor turns out to be a major character after all, then it becomes a totally different story.

Also, do you know how big those grills are? I couldn't lift one of those things to save my life!

Now don't take this the wrong way, Issy. I think the hot dog vendor is a very creative idea, and funny too, but I personally would want to be someone more important.

Hey, I do write screenplays, I might as well.

Haha, you'd be the main role! If Jimmy Fallon didn't want to be in it! You would so do it! And hey, this movie you would run accross the field!

Are you saying the hot dog vendor isnt an important person? LMAO. tongue.gif

Yeah, but the whole baseball thing I thought was funny especially since the Boston Red Sox had won the next year after the joke in "50 First Dates." smile.gif

Well I too am a Massachusetts native and have always been a Red Sox fan .
I think it was real cool that Drew's films involved the Sox ,because ,of course ,she is my favorite actress .

By the way ,I think TJ should have a cameo role as Bill Buckner !!

Just teasing you TJ !!

Perhaps I should, as I'm not a great baseball player. First base isn't my position.

Speaking of the hog dog vendor, believe it or not, and I'm joking about this, Fenway Park has installed a hog dog vending machines.

Don't believe me? Read this:

You can also buy Fenway Franks at the supermarket. We have them on Nantucket, and in other stores as well, though I'm not sure if they're available only in New England or nationwide. Next time you go to the supermarket, try to see if they have them, particularly in the meat and deli sections.
