Drew seems to have supported quite a few causes over the years going right back to the days of Nancy Reagans "Just Say No" campaign

Before her involvement with the UN and the WFP she lent support to things like the Wildlife Waystation and the Female Health Foundation.

Wildlife Waystation: Animal sanctuary in California’s Angeles National Forest that
rescues rehabilitate, relocates and provides shelter to animals.

Female Health Foundation an organisation that works towards the improvement in female sexual, reproductive and family health.

Besides the ones that you mentioned, Paul, the only other cause I can recall right now is MTV's Rock the Vote. Drew did a commercial for them with David Spade back in 1996.

Thats interesting Ashley - I've heard of 'Rock the Vote' but don't know what its about exactly - were the aims similar to the ones that Drew had when she made her voting documentary?

Yes, the goal was to encourage younger people to vote. This commercial was specifically aimed towards females though. Have you ever seen it?

I remember a commercial where Drew burns a bra and says a woman's place is in the voting booth... I believe that's the one with David Spade.

No I've not seen that unfortunately. Drew Burning a bra and saying a womans place is in the voting booth doesn't ring any bells. She wasn't combining the voting and sexual health campaigns at the same time was she?

What was the anti war event where Drew read a statement from the Dali Lama? I seem to remember that being a big thing a few years ago.

You're thinking of the Global Vision for Peace press reception in Los Angeles on March 20, 2003.

I thought of Drew reading the Dali Lama's statement when the protests surrounding the carrying of the Olympic torch were in the news. Something about violence not being the answer.

Can you remember what the exact statement was?

The commercial is from 1996 when she had the black hair. David Spade is talking to her on a tv & being sexist about women. Drew says "It's time we made some decisions, and not just about what's for dinner" and David says, "Well you know what they say about a woman's place." That's when Drew replies, "Yeah, it's in the voting booth" & burns one of the bras hanging around the room. Then in a voice over Drew says, "Register & Rock the Vote".

I think there's a little more in the beginning, but the version I have taped starts a bit in.
